New Year’s Resolution Ideas

Top 3 Apps For 2021

Top 3 Apps For 2021

I think we can all agree that 2020 has come with a certain set of challenges that we did not anticipate…

With that being said we are ready to embrace the new year and to head in with a fresh, positive and motivated perspective.

We’re stoked because for this month’s blog we’ve got the perfect go-to new years resolution ideas for everyone, plus we’ve gathered up our top 3 apps for 2021 to hold you accountable and ensure that you crush your goals.

So without further adieu, let’s get right into it!

Top 3 Apps For 2021

Healthy Eating Resolutions : The Lifesum App

It’s safe to say that this one is probably at the top of most of our lists… maybe it’s even been there for a few years in a row now? No shame, we’ve all overindulged during the holidays (or during all of 2020) and now we are ready to do the best we can with the year ahead.

The app we’re obsessed with for holding accountability towards our healthy eating goals is known as “Lifesum”. This is available for free with tons of incredible features, plus it’s so simple and user friendly for all age groups. Lifesum also has the option to pay for certain premium features, however the basics of the app will do more than enough to keep you on track.

First off, the app will have you answer a few questions so it is able to tailor to your specific needs/goals. From there you will have a daily diary page in which you can log all of your meals plus physical activities into.

Lifesum will take that data and work it’s magic to show you exactly what you’re missing and/or getting too much of, on an easy to read wheel chart, amazing!

Organizational Resolutions : The Trello App

This is a best kept secret of ours, that to be honest since we’ve discovered, I cannot keep quiet about. The only downfall of Trello? I wish I had found it sooner!
You can access Trello by desktop or app, and it is offered for free with the option for a premium paid membership with a bunch of added goodies. However, we use the free option and it works wonders for us.

So what is it?

It is whatever you need it to be to keep you organized in any area of your life. You can use it as a planner, calendar, creating shopping lists, projects, workflows, team tracking, etc. There are tons of ready to go templates that you can choose from based on your specific organizational goals, or you can opt to create your own.

You can add due dates, labels, colour coordination and so much more, however you can also keep things on the simpler side if that’s your style. Trello is, in my opinion, fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it however in the beginning it does come with a bit of a learning curve so I would recommend watching a quick youtube tutorial if you want to speed up the learning process.

Overall, it is completely worth it and beyond amazing for personal and/or business needs!

Financial Resolutions : The Goodbudget Budget Planner

Budgeting can sometimes be viewed in a negative light, however getting real about your financial goals can be positive with the right tools to hold you accountable, 2021 is the time to get excited!

Everybody has a different style when it comes to financial planning, some prefer an excel spreadsheet, while I know others that simply write it out the “old-fashioned” way, however the app I’m about to mention next has many advantages and I’ll explain why.

The Goodbudget Budget Planner app is a fan favourite, it’s user-friendly and straightforward approach makes it perfect for beginners all the way up to the more “advanced” budgeters.

Goodbudget allows you to easily input all of your expenses and adjust along the way, from there the app will present to you a colour coded pie chart so you can visually see which areas are on track and which areas you may have over-spent in.

Aside from the basics you also have the option to track any debt progress in the form of an easy to interpret graph, so simple and effective! The real bonus here is that you have the ability to tend to all of your financial goals/ planning in one place, not to mention it’s a free app which makes it accessible to the majority.
